Ooh...this is interesting. Will give it a go later. Do you know if the input file is actually uploaded to the server first, and then outputted? Because my uploads are capped...

you have to upload the video from your computer or from a URL.

Bah...how terrible. That means I'll have to upload the big file, to get converted, and then I'll need to upload the converted file again to YSI or wherever. I don't think my internet service provider will like that.

While I'm here, I'll just post a slightly related question. If I were to upload, say, an old movie to the downloads section - should I put a 积分 restriction to it? Or is the 金钱 more appropriate, if any at all?

Setting point or gold, it's up to you charmed. I think the goal is to stimulate members to be active.

I have some .DAT files that I want to convert to mov file. Do you have any suggestion which software I can use.  It seem the media converter does not have this function.

Try SUPER http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

I never use it to convert .dat to .mov . SUPER claims it can.

But sometimes it doesn't work as it claim. For example, although SUPER claim it can convert .vob to .avi , in reality it can not.

I used SUPER before and I found that it didn't sync up the video and the audio properly....
